New Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Features

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra sports a sleek design that's comfortable in your hands and easy on the eyes, and it's packed with premium technology features that help you optimize work, play and communication. New AI-powered features let you complete tasks across multiple apps quickly, and bigger, brighter screens bring videos and mobile games to life.

Keep reading to learn more about Samsung's latest flagship release, including how to protect your Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with the right case.

What's new in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra?

The S25 Ultra is more robust than its predecessor, thanks to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It's the fastest chip Qualcomm makes as of March 2025, and it offers increased power with added energy efficiency, which is good for battery life.

Due to thinner bezels, the screen size is slightly upgraded — to 6.9 inches diagonally versus 6.8 inches on the S24 Ultra. Screen brightness is also slightly better with the S25 Ultra. Other improvements include:

  • An upgrade to the ultrawide camera — a 50MP ultrawide camera compared to the S24 Ultra's 12 MP
  • A 3 nm chip that helps the 5,000 mAh battery last slightly longer between charges compared to the S24 Ultra
  • Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass — a step up from the S24 Ultra's Corning Gorilla Armor glass — and a titanium frame
  • Advanced AI support for photo editing, search interactions and other tasks

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra display & design

The S25 Ultra looks like the S24 Ultra at first glance. They're roughly the same size, although the S25 Ultra's slightly thinner bezels stretch the functional screen a fraction of an inch to 6.9 inches.

The 3,120 x 1,440-pixel AMOLED screen has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, helping deliver smooth videos for optimal entertainment while protecting battery life. A peak screen brightness of 2,600 nits ensures images are visible even in outdoor light. In short, whether you're binging Netflix, scrolling socials or learning something new on YouTube, you can get clear, crisp visuals for hours.

Its titanium frame can withstand a hit and keep going, and its rounded edges are easy on the hands. The phone is available in seven colors, including Titanium Jadegreen, Titanium Pinkgold and Titanium Black, although several colors are only available through Samsung's website.

Despite being packed with heavy-lifting technology, the phone is even lighter than the already feather-like S24 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra performance & battery life

Like the S24 Ultra, the S25 Ultra sports a 5,000 mAh battery. At a minimum, you can expect the same type of battery life with the newer version. However, a more powerful and efficient processor and a 3 nm process might help you get more out of a single charge, especially if you maintain good charging habits.

Its additional processing power shows up when you put it in gear by launching multiple apps. You can switch tasks without delays, run several high-resource apps at once and leverage advanced AI features to help with productivity. Built-in AI also helps you manage the battery and prolong use between charges.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra camera system

Overall, the S25 Ultra doesn't bring many new changes to the photography table. You get 200 MP main, 50 MP 5x zoom and 10 MP 3x zoom lenses. However, the 12 MP ultra-wide lens on the S24 Ultra is upgraded to a 50 MP lens in the newer version.

Its camera is backed by upgraded software, which slightly changes how photographs turn out. You can also use new AI tools to edit and perfect photos and shoot more stable videos.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra software & AI features

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra runs Android 15 with One UI 7 layered over top. The AI features bring in functionality that's fun to play with and useful for personal productivity or work.

For example, the voice assistant can complete complex tasks across multiple apps with a single command. You might tell it to look up the grand opening of a new restaurant, text a friend about reserving a table for its opening week and add that date to your calendar. Even more impressive, the cross-app functionality isn't limited to Samsung's apps. You can also use it with Google and several third-party apps.

The S25 Ultra also offers AI Select functionality, which interacts with what's on your screen to suggest new content or help you do something with existing content. Ask questions about images on the screen or get help clipping a video to make new content for social. Circle to Search, a holdover feature from previous models, is also present on the S25 Ultra, and the Now Brief feature is available for daily summaries.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra connectivity & additional features

However you like to stay connected, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra offers an excellent Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity experience. It supports sub-6 GHz and mmWave 5G bands for comprehensive coverage, and Wi-Fi 7 capabilities let you connect to home, business or public networks for fast, efficient data transfers. Bluetooth 5.4 technology lets you connect to relevant devices, and the range is slightly enhanced over previous phone models.

Enhanced haptics over previous models increases your tactile experience, and advanced security features, such as an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, help you secure your device.

Protect Your Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with a new case

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra offers new processing power and AI technology the S24 Ultra doesn't have. Users who aren't ready to step up their pocket-tech AI game might not rush to upgrade to Samsung's newest Galaxy offering. However, those who like the idea of greater efficiency when handling tasks on their smartphone might find the S25 Ultra attractive.
