No it will not. Being waterproof is one thing it defiantly isn't.

No, LG G2 Defender case is not waterproof. Openings exist for speaker, earpiece and camera lenses.

No..... But it is a nice quality, and provides the protection we feel the phone needs for everyday mishaps.

Q:
After reading reviews about the screen protector making the phone difficult to use due to an air-gap in the fitment, my question is whether that built-in screen protector could easily be removed from the case and if I could just apply my own stand-alone screen protector from another manufacturer?

A:
It will NOT be easy to remove. That being said, it will depend upon the tools (utility knife, dremel tool, etc.) that you have available and your expertise/agility with those tools.

A:
no, any aftermarket screen protector you get will not fit under the inner plastic case. it will allow dust or debris to get in and potentially scratch up your phone.

A:
Very easy to remove. Just separate the case, hold the front part, and push on the protector at one of the edges. It is held in place by a thin strip of double sided tape. Once you have it separated, just work your way around the cover until the whole thing is out.

Yes it can! That is exactly what we did with the 2 cases that did not fit.

I haven't tried it but I thought about it. However I haven't had that much trouble with it just some cleaning every 2 or so weeks; takes less than 2 minutes.

However upon inspection of the case, it seems the cover is just glued in on the insides of the case and with a small amount of pressure you could easily remove it. Clean up the left over residue and use your own screen protector.

A:
The screen protecter can be removed without much problem, but then you are left with an edge that will catch dust and dirt.

Well once You punch it out the product is broken in my opinion there's no way I'm getting mine back on so I got a stick on protector but it's not the same. Doesn't feel as secure.

Yes and no. Yes, you can remove it via an exacto knife/razor and a steady hand. However, it's not a removable screen protector by design so you'll have some modifying to do on your own.

Product Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 98 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great case but the screen protector has some issue When i 1st got my G2 i went straight for an otterbox, i bought the commuter but i feel as if the back was too slick, so i got a defender. I love the feel of this case but the protector isn't flush which causes poor UI experience. So i just pushed out the screen protector and used my own TechArmor HD protector and it feels just like regular glass. But the phone now shakes just a little bit inside of this case, im not sure if it will cause any problems but ill update if come across anything. April 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by YOU SHOULD BUY THIS CASE! I have had this case before and I have to honestly say it is a well put together case in terms of screen protection and dropping the phone. I have accidentally dropped this phone from 4 and a 1/2 feet and the Defender did a great job defending my phone from damage! Protection was spot-on! I highly recommend this case to anyone with an LG G2 phone. I have had the pleasure of owning your products and up until an unfortunate accident, I have not had to replace mine. Had I known about the warranty (The Sprint salesman didn't tell me about it) I'd have utilized that to replace my Otterbox. But I am gladly paying for a new one because hands down, Otterbox is in my eyes, the best. March 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by The LG G2 Defender I use is one of the most durable cases that can be found. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that it's extremely difficult to get the phone in, sometimes I actually have to use both hands to get the phone in the case. It's also a little uncomfortable at times, but I've dropped it from a height of 7' to 8' onto cement with no damage, so I can deal with those 2 issues. All in all this does exactly what it's advertised for and I would recommend it to anyone that works construction, up and down ladders, etc. January 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do not buy this case. I purchased this case thinking that it would protect my phone just fine, it seemed quite durable and and the design even looked like it could protect it from a lot of drops. But I was mistaken, one day my phone fell from my dresser, I thought to myself, "Oh it'll be fine, it only fell 3 feet." I soon realized that it wasn't fine and that my phone had a crack right done the middle of the phone. I am very disappointed in this case and would not recommend Otterbox to anyone. January 7, 2015
