Rated 4 out of 5 by Otterthisworld Great customer service at Otterbox. My new case looks sharp and is performing well. Gives me peace of mind whilst carrying an expensive device, especially at work or around water. The PRESERVER is slightly finicky to remove from and re-insert into the case which I do to use camera attachments for my iPhone 5S, but not a deal-breaker. August 20, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Otter Preserver Series For 5S I had high hopes for this item. I needed a tough case, but not a bulky one. At first it seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. However, the three biggest problems with this case are: 1. Not durable-the front of the case is made of a soft rubber like material that quickly begins to fray and becomes horribly dirty-and it can't be cleaned! 2. My voice is severely muffled when speaking to others. 3. The tab design over the aux port allows for only a limited types of ear buds. I expected much better from Otter, especially for the price point. Perhaps they will rethink this design. August 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Preserver Otter Case This case has proven very substantial. However, I do have issues with the design of the sound system. Often callers will tell me that they cannot hear me, or I get sound feedback with a call. This necessitates me to open up the microphone port lock on the bottom of the phone to resolve these issues, which is awkward to do while on a telephone call. At first I thought it was my phone. But, I went to my phone carrier, and the phone works fine out of the case. But, when it is inside the case, I can often have sound issues. Too bad that the design couldn't have included good sound. I do like the waterproof characteristic of the case. August 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by So far, so good! Great feel to the case (no more sticky rubber case for me!). Got the primrose case, it's a pretty color, just would have liked an option that wasn't so bright, but still feminine. That said, the primrose is still pretty! Easy to install phone, easy to plug in to charge or to plug in headphones. Have not had any run-ins with water yet, but can tell that the case would protect against splashes and drops. Just wish I would have had this case right when I got my iPhone 5S so that it would have been protected from day one. I am always shocked when people have an iPhone without a case, let alone without an Otterbox case. Love Otterbox products and will always use the cases on my iPhones. Thanks for a quality product! Q:
I have an iPhone 5 and I'm really interested in the waterproof preserver series. I would like to know if the 5s case would fit the 5 and still be waterproof? I looked for just a regular 5 case but it always brings me back to the 5S product.

You can put a WW sticker on the case, but the cases themselves are just shipped with the specified colors at this time.

At the moment, there is no holster for the case. It does fit very nicely in the pocket though!

Wouldn't suggest that...it is not buoyant by itself, but there are some foam devices that could be attached to the lanyard, which are sold at marine stores which would suffice if it was dropped into the water. While bulkier, losing an expensive phone, with all your data, pictures, and numbers is not such a great option. Seal Line makes high quality zip lock type dry bags which I have stored my equipment in, and if they are sealed with some air in them, they will float...tested, and works!

No not a chance. It does how ever have a place for a lanyard which you can attach a float to and that will help it float.

The case itself does not float (I know from experience)

I had a lifeproof life jacket I used when I had my lifeproof case. I found the preserver case fit into it perfect. Makes it very bulky but is worth it, if you're around water.

No. You will need an accessory similiar the the Lifeproof LifeJacket. I have not tested to see if the Lifeproof Life Jacket would fit on this case.

No. Will go straight to the bottom. Attach the lanyard and attach a float device. Test before getting near water. Also test the case's water integrity before placing phone inside. Just in case.

Test it before placing the phone inside it. I'm sure the less you submerge it, the better. Clorine and salt water will eventually ware on the hard rubber and water-tight seal washers inside. Think of the case as insurance, not an underwater case.

Of course! As long as you mind the time it is submerged, it is totally fine! I have my phone in the pool on a weekly basis for video recording some of my swimmers during practice. No problems whatsoever.

You can if you feel the need to swim with your phone, just test the case without the phone inside first (as per the directions) to make sure that there are no defects.
