Rated 5 out of 5 by Nothing beats this! We originally bought a different brand at teh SAME price and it was AWFUL. It wouldn't fit correctly and once we finally got it on it still wasn't quite right. I bought this case instead and it went on in a snap and is also easily removeable in case we need to clean it etc. LOVE it! April 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good product overpriced One of the few grossly overpriced products I am will to purchase. Good protection against almost everything. I would not say it is waterproof. All in all, I cannot say anything bad about the product other than the price. April 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Durable and dependable Nothing but praise to sing about this product! It is the most durable and quality case I have ever had!! There's no doubt it could withstand any damage test thrown it's way, short of being run over by a massive truck! In fact, from my own experience, the truck caused very minor damage. I was amazed!! Camera Covers?

Q:
Is there a thin layer of plastic to protect the front and rear cameras just like the apple logo? Sorry to ask but I can't really tell in the pictures and none of the reviews speak to it.

Yes there is a rubberized flap that covers the lightning connect port - it can be opened to charge without removing the whole cover

Of course, There is plenty of room for the charger to fit into the port. There is even a rubber port cover that you can close when not charging it to keep the dust and dirt out!

If you have the official lightning cable that came with the ipod, the answer is yes, it fits in. I have an unofficial cable that's a little bit bigger and it does not fit.

No, you cannot place the device in a docking station with the case on, however, you can use a cord and plug it in- usually available with most docking stations

Most likely, no. Your average docking station is formed to fit the iPod snug so it does not move and damage the device. This case adds size to the iPod.

YES! I searched extensively , read a lot of specs and reviews before I made a choice.
I purchased the '12 SOUTH ' brand "Highrise for iphone". It is very stable , well constructed and is easily adjustable for both depth and thickness of device + case.
You assemble the stand (machine screws and allen wrench included. Very easy)
You custom set the back for the depth of your device in its case.
You are provided 3 different size clips that securely hold the end of your 'lightening' charging cable to the proper height to reach through your case and snug into your device.
You will need to supply your own 'lightening ' cable.
Well made of sturdy aluminum. Securely docks and charges your device , through the case , while looking
quite smart! Highly recommended!

If you mean is it able to go on a docking station with the case on, it's most likely not. The bottom of the case goes over quite a bit and probably won't fit on. Depends on the docking station I think.

A:
It is not waterproof, there are no covers for the cameras and there is an opening for the built in speaker. The defender could not be waterproof and still allow for the full functionality of the iPod.

A:
No, far from it. There are slight openings in the case. The problem with a life proof case is, once your ipod is in the case, you cant exactly take it out without damaging the case.

Water resistant , not water proof. This is stated in the specs.
Otterbox does make a line of totally waterproof gear boxes. I use one for my phone while kayaking or hanging at the beach.

No, while the case keeps dust, dirt, etc. off of your device the speaker hole and other parts of the case do not stop water from coming into contact with your iPod.

The Defender Series cases are not waterproof. For waterproof protection for your iPod, we recommend the Pursuit Series cases or our classic Dry Boxes.

Belt Clip Included?

Q:
Is there a belt clip and/or hard screen protector included with this product? Other Defender products seem to have one or both of these, but I don't see it listed for the iPod Touch 5G product specs.

A:
No belt clip is included for the IPod Touch 5G. There is a wrist strap if you choose to use it. There is a screen protector built into the inner case, but the hard case you are describing only comes with the belt clip. However the built-in otterbox screen protector works great and there is enough silicone around the edges to protect your IPod Touch. Its the only "box" I would use on any device -- and I have three devices that all are protected by otterbox defender series.

No, unlike the OtterBox cases for the iPhone and iPad, the iPod touch cases do not come with a belt clip. The case does not have the necessary snaps for a belt clip either, they are only made to carry around in your pocket.
