otter box belt clip The pivot on the belt clip broke the third day I had the unit. I was getting into my vehicle and the phone and cradle flew out into the street. June 13, 2013

Does not support standard 3.5mm plugs Let me start off by saying I am long time Otter Case customer and have loved their product. I am now on my 3rd generation Defender case for my iPhone. I recently purchased an iPhone 5 and to my surprise when I went to plug in a standard mini cable and my Beats head set they would not seat to the phone. This is due to a design flaw in the case. Otter tells me that the case was designed to fit the supplied Apple head set. Really who uses them? I have tried 6 different standard mini jacks and none of them will seat. The opening seems to be fine but there is a raised tab that extends from the case to the left of the opening (when looking at the front of the phone) that prevents a right angle plug (as you will find on many of the Beats headsets) from being used. The diameter of the hole in the case is too small for most standard mini plug to fit through. The end result is that if I want to use my headset or plug the phone into an Aux jack on my car or boat I must remover the case. Wow who did the R&D on this product because I would like to have a chat with him because he messed up! In talking with Otter they finally admitted they know of this issue but have plans to mitigate the problem or to provide satisfaction for current customers who have wasted their money on this product. Worst Purchase Ever!! The case was given to me as a gift for my recently purchased Iphone 5 and I didnt have the case a week, and i dropped my phone with the Otterbox case on it and the case and the phone itself broke. The iphone screen was cracked inside whenever I dropped the phone. So I would not recomend this product to anyone. May 30, 2013

Great Protection for Expensive Portable Devices I love the ability to design your own Otter Box so you can customize great protection for your phones. My only complaint is that is would be nice to purchase parts separately. ie. if the slipcover get mangled, it would be nice to replace or if you like to change the look to suit your mood or fashion, the ability to purchase extras without buying the inner sleeve would be great.
