The Defender Series designer iPhone 4 / 4S case features three layers of defense, including an inner polycarbonate shell, built-in screen shield, silicone slipcover and holster. The two-piece inner shell is built from high quality polycarbonate and snaps together around the iPhone to create a secure protective base. A screen protector is built into the inner shell to protect against scuffs, scrapes and scratches. Defender case SAVED my iphone today! I am a Mom of 3 children ages 5 and under. I originally bought the defender case because I didn't want to worry about my kids getting ahold of my phone. Also, I have a tendency to drop my phone, a lot. What can I say, I get distracted by the kids. The case has protected my phone MANY times and actually has a slight crack in the white part of the case. However, after todays experience I will NEVER buy another brand of case. Today is Mother's Day. I was strapping the kids in their car seats to go to church and I set my phone on the roof of our minivan. We left home and drove out of our neighborhood. When we got on the main road we were going about 50mph when we heard clunking on the roof as something flew off. I immediately realized it must be my phone. My husband said the phone would be trashed. We stopped and went searching down the side of the road for the phone. Luckily we found it. The case is banged up a bit on every corner, it must have flipped end to end many times down the road, but is in surprisingly good shape. I took the phone out of the case to look it over and there isn't a scratch on it. I am so impressed that this case completely protected my iPhone from flying off the room of a car at 50 mph! It would have really put a damper on Mother’s Day this year if I destroyed my phone. Way to go OtterBox for making an amazing product. You have a customer for life! Studio collection I bought this case about a month ago. I have been an otter box fan i have bought 2 reflex series cases and 3 defender cases. My family all have otterboxes on their phones. This was my 3rd defender case however i decided to try the studio collection as they are truly beautiful cases. It is doing it's job in protecting my phone. However, the outer layer with the floral design is already peeling on the edges. And from the looks of other reviews, I am not the only one experiencing this It is a beautiful case but doesn't seem like it would last past 6 month. I would not recommend getting the studio collection. March 17, 2013
Needs a little improving I have had my cover for a couple of years now and my only complaints are that the silcone gets stuck in your hair if you are talking on the phone and have long hair. and the silicone attracts alot of dust & dirt. and the silicone also starts to break down especially at that bottom part (which I also find hard to close properly) otherwise its great and oput of all the times I have dropped it it has never broken on me :) January 8, 2013
Cute protective case! I drop my precious phone nearly every day, so I HAD to get an otterbox. I got this in "celestial" and "perrenial". They were both so cute, and I'm a girly girl! The celestial is a different color than in the pictures, it's a more intense turquoise. Very pretty, though! The design on the cases are adorable, however the actual design of the case makes it rather bulky. But that was expected, and because of the protection it offers, it is worth the bulk. Unlike the usual otterboxes, the back of these aren't really soft or squishy silicone. They're harder like a plastic, and it's very smooth unlike the usual rough/grippy silicone that prevents them from slipping. The lock button is a bit harder to push, but it's something you can easily get used to! Lastly, the silicone is difficult to put on and take off, but I'm not constantly changing it so that's okay! The cute look of this case and the protection really outrule all the negatives, though! If you're clutzy and girly like I am, this case is a must have. January 4, 2013
