Great protection I bought this case when I got my new iPhone 4S. I thought it was a little pricey but I liked the design a lot. After a few months having it, my phone dropped out of my car and landed under my minivan right next to the tire. I didn't realize it and accidentally ran over it. It completely protected my phone. There was hardly a scratch on the case. Totally worth the money!! May 11, 2013
Excellent protection My wife and I both got iPhone 4 units last weekend. We both installed the OtterBox Defender case on our new phones. Overall the cases are wonderful and fully protect the phones. I'm not crazy about the flaps and the fact that the hole in the one over the headphone jack doesn't line up with the phone port. May 8, 2013
Pretty good but... So I have purchased four Otterbox Defender series cases, but I have always had the same problem. After a while of use (I use the case all day everyday), the built- in screen protector begin to scratch VERY easily. I know many other people have these problems too. I realize that there's not much Otterbox can do to fix this because I've never seen a screen protector that doesn't scratch. However if you don't like scratches, I recommend the commuter series, which enables you to change out the screen protector, whereas with the defender you can't easily remove it. April 25, 2013

I would imagine that they would be interchangeable. I have 2 defender cases and have no problem swapping the covers. I don't see why these would be different.

Yes; Build Your Own components are compatible with the Defender Series® iPhone® 4/ 4S cases with Realtree® camouflage and Defender Series iPhone 4/ 4S with military-style camouflage. However, they are not compatible with the Anthem Collection or Studio Collection Defender Series cases.

No these components are not compatible with our other series. They are only compatible with the Defender Series for the iPhone 4/4S.

No they are not compatible with other models of the iPhone, these parts are only compatible with 4/4S Defender Series case. Please note they are not compatible with the Anthem or Studio Collection Defender Series cases.
