Alan Morine and the Hybrid Race Car

OtterBox Mechanical Engineer and Designer, Alan Morine, has the need for speed. Working toward completing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University, Alan and a team of six other students have designed and built a hybrid, open-wheel, single-seat, race car for their senior design project. 

While Alan and his team were the brains behind the operation, the project needed additional support to be a true success.

“OtterBox already does so much to give back locally and places emphasis on education as well as our environment; asking them to sponsor my project was the perfect fit!” says Alan.

Thanks to OtterBox’s support the team was able trek over 2,000 miles to New Hampshire in early May to compete in the Formula Hybrid International Competition.  They placed second overall out of 30 other teams.
