Rated 5 out of 5 by Total Phone Saver! I drop my phone DAILY, including the moment it was first put into my hands. I purchased this case and took it with me to purchase the phone. I've had the phone and case for more than a year, and my phone is still as brand new as the day I purchased it, including the original screen protector. eventually, the teensy little holes of the 2 part case get a little loose, but the 3 part design completely accommodates for that, and holds everything together. All you have to do is take it apart and wipe it down if you have little children with sticky hands or happen to work in restaurants ( i do both!) every once in awhile. It's not one of those cases that causes the phone to sweat or retain moisture, either, great for warranty of the phone!!! I totally adore this company, what they stand for, and the product that they put out, and the fact that their customer service is second to NONE. Consider AJ a lifelong customer. July 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by UPGRAGE the clip for the case it should be metal and not plastic...reason it brakes to much. July 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent case with minor flaws. I'm doing this review on a replacement I received, but within the next few days I will be ordering the Defender Surf case for the Note 3 I was just upgraded to, so that should be some testament to the great quality of how well their cases are. When I first purchased my Note 2, after reading many reviews & talking to owner's of the Otterbox brands, this has been the only case I've used since owning the phone. I'm an active person between my work & personal life so I do a lot of climbing, crawling, getting it snagged in seat belts, & constantly bumping into things & this case has held up to all of it. I've dropped my phone on several occasions from various heights, even face down on gravel surfaces, closed it in doors, stepped on & ran over, all without any complications. The comfort of the rubberized slip that fits around the hard case is awesome since I have a such a large phone it makes it very easy to grip, because without it the phone feels like it wants to fly out of my hand like a bar of soap. The only beefs I'd say with the Defender series would be the built-in screen protector, belt clip, & color options. I think the screen protector should be an optional/add on item which could & should lower the overall price, some people like them but I am not one. Many times the built-in protector leaves a gap between itself & the phone screen allowing dust & dirt to become trapped between them & presents the ability to get scratches. Also the thickness of the protector sometimes interferes with the phone's touch sensitivity. I prefer the Defender series because it comes with a holster since the size of my phone is kind of bulky to just carry around in my pocket, especially with a case on it. The downside is if it's dropped with the case in it to provide added weight something on it will probably break, along with the lock for the kickstand feature if used too much. I think the material for it should possibly be made out of a little softer material to maybe withstand some of the daily abuse it's designed for. Lastly I'd like to see at least some of the Galaxy series offer a mix & match option for color choices. The current colors provided aren't bad but personally I'd match different colored components to what I'd like if I could, hey Otterbox not everyone owns an iPhone! Overall I'm very pleased with my product & would give it 5 stars if not for the screen protector & holster, I'm not too happy with the pricing at times but for the quality & not having to worry about buying another case if it breaks or damaged is definitely worth the investment. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Product Great case. Super durable. Has saved my phone numerous times. The only negative I can say is the belt clip breaks easily, but the great folks at Otterbox replace it every time at no cost. I buy Otterbox cases for all my devices. They are the best! July 23, 2014

If you go to the Otterbox website, look for the "file warranty claim" section. They have you take two separate pictures of the broken part, and upload them. They show examples of what the pictures should include. If it's within the 1 year they warranty, they will ship you the clip, for free.

Just submit a warranty claim. You will get a whole new case and clip. Have had to do this twice on my Note2.

Absolutely. There is a cut-out for the pen to be removed. Very handy and works great. I use my Note 2 to take notes during meetings and email them in PDF to my work email. Works great for me getting to the pen and putting the pen back.

A:
Depends on manufacturer and model of cradle/docking station. I would recommend a cradle/dock with a cord that plugs in to the micro USB port, these are commonly used in cradles/stations that hold the phone horizontally. Models that use a fixed location connector (not adjustable) would require modifications (extending the length) and possibly require you to cut off the silicone flap (on the Otterbox Defender) that covers the micro-USB port.

A:
I haven't tried to charge this in a cradle but based on other experiences with Otterboxes and iPhones, they never fit into cradles with the Otterbox Defender cases on the phones. The case adds a lot of girth and weight to the phone - but worth the trade-off for protection provided by the Otterbox Defender cases.

I plug my phone into charging cables vs. cradles - this is no problem to do. There is a small rubber that pulls down and exposes the charging port.

A:
Its highly unlikely that a docking station will work with this case. We don't test the case with other setups other than the device - usually you would need to use an auxillary cable with the docking station.
