Best case for the kitchen
I am a professional chef who works in a very fast paced hectic environment. So because I am always on the move, my phone gets inadvertently dropped quite often. Thank goodness for the protection that this case gives me. I paid quite a bit for my Google Galaxy Nexus, so I truly want to protect this investment. Good job guys!

Warping and breaking well within a month of use
Within a few weeks my inner hard shell case had warped to the point where it would no longer form a solid connection on all sides. As a result one of the connectors broke. Also, I think it should be designed so that you can easily hit the external buttons with or without the gel case. Makes it hard to use it without and the gel case makes it a little big. Haven't seen any dust issues or scratches though. It's generally a decent case.

Otterbox Defender Series (Galaxy Nexus)
I really like this protection. Can leak in a pouring rain if not protected, attracts dust, but easily cleaned. Replacement of broken parts was a snap. It was not easily broken, but these things can happen. I appreciated the ease in which I obtained a replacement part for the OtterBox...I would recommend these specifically to my friends who use smartphones and are exposed to hazardous environments as it really prevents damage to the unit.

Pretty good protection, however...
The defender works quite well if you are expecting to drop you phone a lot. There are a lot of downsides though. First of all the holster is made of a pretty hard but brittle plastic. It doesn't scratch very easily but it will crack and break if you are not carefull. I broke the belt clip right off mine with very little effort. The second thing that is sub-par is the outer rubber bumper. After a very short time it stretches out and doesnt fit properly. It also allows dirt and grit to get into the inner phone area (which ends up scratching your phone) The rubber usb cover also presses up against your cable and makes it lopsided. I ended up trimming it back so it didnt screw up the port. The overall fit is not very good. You can hear it squeek and creak when you squeeze it. If I had to go back and buy something else I might try the commuter series. PS- you cant fit it in your pocket so you will need the belt clip. This thing is rubbery and huge.
