Samsung Galaxy NEXUS Commuter Series Case
2 broken now.
I was really happy with the OtterBox commuter case I had for my LG Optimus S so I didn't hesitate to buy one for my Galaxy Nexus when I got it to replace the aging Optimus, all went good for a few months, but then the poly carbonate outer shell broke on the bottom when I was removing the case to change my battery, no biggie OtterBox customer service got me a replacement in about a week, but now 2 months later the replacement they sent broke in the EXACT same spot as the original.

Saved My Phone
Bought a brandnew GNEX from the black market (Samsung never released the model in the Philippines). So the phone had no official warranty whatsoever. But I wanted to have the GNEX badly so I protected it with the Otter Case. True enough I dropped my phone several times and after almost a year now, my phone still looks brand new whenever I take it out of the Otter case. This is great!

Never Using an Otterbox AGAIN
I got my Samsung NEXUS in August of 2012, and purchased an Otterbox with it. It has been out of its case so i can clean the dust that somehow collected inside the case. Tonight, I was over at a friends house, and i dropped my phone on the wooden surface. Thinking it would be fine, I picked it up and was shocked. There is a huge partial spiderweb crack on the bottom right corner of the screen. It was securely inside the Otterbox. I am not at all impressed.

Overall good case
The case gives necessary protection to phone from accidental drops. It has inner silicon skins which should absorb the drop shocks, though I have not tested it obviously. The outer polycarbonate (plastic) shell is pretty solid and looks stylish. One drawback of the inner silicon skin is, especially for black coloured skin, that dust is very visible over it and required frequent cleaning. Also based on other reviews, I have not tried the screen protector myself. The case is not as bulk as the defender series. Overall it is a good case for those who do want to keep the phone in pocket most of the time and do not need a holster, although this case might go into some holsters in the market.
