Rated 2 out of 5 Not very happy I wanted a waterproof case when I first purchased my iPhone 5s, and I was delited to see otterBox came out with this case. I purchased the case in Oct. 2013 and have had the case on it since (a year later). I chose this case over the "Life Proof" and I am disapointed that I did. The case IS considered to be more durable than the lifeproof case is, however it is NOT waterproof. As mentioned in the other reviews, the bottom rubber flaps are a horrible design. I immidiately tested the case in a cup (hardly any water pressure) and saw leaks in the bottom flaps. After a month the rubber flaps degrated to the point that I would not even risk taking my phone in the shower. I cannot use the finger print option on my phone due to case design and I have small fingers. NO ONE can hear me when I talk on the phone. I HAVE to take my phone out of the case to make any phone calls (which is oviously a huge hassle). Some people even argue that my case dammaged my phone mic. and speak even after removing the case. The flaps also have dammaged my charging cords!! We all know how valuable ur chargers are! The rubber all around the case is horrible quality and worn within a month of use, and even turned colors from my jeans! The side flip for volume muting degraded and RIPPED, so now is 100% NOT water proof. The back where u snap on the case (at one touch point) broke. I take q-tips to clean out dust in nooks of case for the camera. For anything mentioned in this comment I have not dropped my case. I purchased otterbox for durability and I should have just gotten lifeproof for the waterproof which is what I wanted this case for. I am extremely disapointed in this case. October 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 Great Protection...Not So Good Sound Protection: The case is rugged yet it's profile is not very bulky. It provides great protection from drops and the elements. The lanyard is very useful and the case is pleasing to the eye. Sound: The mic is a bit muted because of the membrane to make the opening waterproof so the receiver of a call may not hear your spoken word clearly...in other words...a bit muffled. The sound coming from the speaker(s) is tinny (rattly) because of the membrane which keeps those openings waterproof. This sound is annoying and should be addressed by R&D. Charging Port: The charging port for the iPhone 5s is designed for Apple's original Lightning Connector. If one attempts to use an after market lightning connector, the case's port opening is not wide enough. I suggest R&D look at this and make the case's port opening a little bit wider. Summary: All in all, I love this case and would very much like to see it improved with the above suggestions. October 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 Does the job. This is an overall great product. The design is a little bulky and whats up with the clear membrane over the home button area. Cant use fingerprint I.D. because of this. Had to cut it out. Michael A. Amarillo Texas October 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 case this case is a a+ in protection and fits perfect.the lens cover really appears to be cheap and gets dirty very easily. the white back is worse about getting dirty and showing it.this is a great case for protection but is extremely over priced October 21, 2014

Q:
I have an Armor case for my iPhone 5s. It was mandatory equipment on my bicycle rides, as I use the Cyclemeter app when riding. I moved to the iPhone6 and really would like the same protection my iPhone5s got. Thank you.

Q:
Absolutely love this case, but I am stuck using the Defender series as I need a holster/belt clip to wear my phone at work. Would switch tomorrow if you can come up with a belt solution.

Q:
I have an iPhone 5 and I'm really interested in the waterproof preserver series. I would like to know if the 5s case would fit the 5 and still be waterproof? I looked for just a regular 5 case but it always brings me back to the 5S product.

Yes, it does work. Apparently they are only making the newer 5s case now which is compatible with both phones.

A:
It will be waterproof, there is nothing differentiating the 5 from the 5s cases besides some of them have accommodations for the fingerprint scanners(thin membrane of flexible plastic material allows phone to read thumbprint while maintaining waterproof capability.). To answer your question directly, yes the phone will be protected from water. Always water test the case first.
