Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 205 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by does its job but.. its definitely water proof & me proof, already dropped a few times & it kept my phone safe. the only annoyance is the speakers. 1] being the little covers came off & i had to do a warranty claim in the 1st week & a half, i put tape over the speakers on the new one. 2] being the the fact that people have a hard time hearing me (they say i sound distant) on top of the fact that they hear really bad echos when they talk, their voice gets thrown back at them. I've started trying to just use headphones for phone calls, especially when they're important doctor/work/school calls. November 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Case My protector case is great. I've submerged my phone in water, I've drop tested it from waist height a few times. It performs as promised. Only one complaint - the membrane for the phone speaker (for phone calls, not the media speaker) tends to distort the sound a bit especially when volume is higher. November 6, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Protect but pieces coming apart My cell phone is in good hands, but the fabric covering the speakers are falling apart. I need to exchange it, but other than that it has been protected. November 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great case Its a great phone case! But the waterproof seals need more glue or something. Two of mine have already come off and Ive barely had the case over a month. October 29, 2014

Unless you will be using your phone around water or snow everyday, I would go with the Defender. The Preserver is not made to talk on and frankly the waterproof system fails after less than 6 months.

I know it's supposed to be waterproof already but heard too many stories of its viability in water & I can't risk it.

The Preserver case for the S4 will not fit the s4 active. the active is built a little differently and has buttons that stick out on the front.

I have the preserver cover for my regular s4 and am very disappointed. The sound quality gets so bad sometimes that I have had to hang up, remove the cover and call people back.

I believe the phones are the same, the active has just been treated with a sealant.

The phone has to be original. No added screen saver or anything that changes its dimensions.

I have a Qi charging adapter that fits inside the standard S4 back cover and it works fine with the Preserver. I don't think an ovesized battery/back cover will fit in the case.

No this does not work with the proximity sensor. As soon as you make a call, the screen goes blank. It only turns back when the call is terminated.

Yes it does. The only thing I have found wrong with the case is that when you talk to people the call quality on THEIR end is worse. I get reports from people I talk to that say they can hear their own echo and other such things. Call quality on my end has never been better, It just gets old hearing every conversation start with I CANT HEAR YOU, usually though they can it just sounds weird at first.
