Agree w. criticisms - One has unique issues...
***RECOMMENDATION TO OTTERBOX***
Revise this thing! The Screen protector MUST go all the way over the htc soft keys (Back, HTC logo, Home). You also need to find someway to seal the front of the case while allowing sound to come out of the speakers. Bring planes of plastic down over the silver parts top and bottom. Then mesh holes like you do for the speaker outputs on the iphone 5 Armor case perhaps.
HTC One 64gb Developer Edition
So here's the deal - I agree with the statement on the screen protection lifting or bubbling. Due to the holes cut for the speakers and home button strip - the plastic DOES rise off the screen. I think Otterbox will need to look at a revision with a better engineered solution for this phone. Not entirely the fault of Otterbox. HTC One has it's speakers on the front surface - how do you open that while still protecting the screen?
I had the same negative experience as another reviewer. You get a layer of air in between the screen protection and screen.
This leaves you with an experience like the old pocketpc screen days where the tactile feel is like a squishy sensation. Your finger hits the screen protection, bends through the air pocket, then touches the screen and the screen responds. It's not good.
I also agree - this is going to be a source for debris getting inside the case between the protector and the screen over time.
When I purchased I bought both the commuter and Defender cases. I love Otterbox gear!
So I did the same thing the other reviewer did. I tore off the screen protector on the Defender. I used 'Adhesive off' (awesome sticky remover# to remove the glue left behind on the front half of the case.
The stick on screen protection included with the Commuter is fantastic. So I grabbed that and put it on in place of the now removed Defender case.
The screen is pretty completely protected #including the home buttons which wasn't with the stock Defender built in screen protector#. Additionally the speakers and front camera are properly exposed. AND I get the added protection of the Defender case!!! #admittedly this is not completely sealed from the front of the phone - but neither is stock ATM...#
#Bonus - I can easily switch back and forth from Defender to Commuter to naked phone if I wish depending on my activity#

Not the protection I expected
I ordered my otterbox defender a week early to make sure I had it on launch day for the HTC ONE. I've always had otterbox cases and have always been impressed by the protection they provide. The one thing I liked about these cases was the built in screen protection, Well, the screen proctor on this phone doesnt keep dust from getting under it and the fact the case isnt easy to get off(which has never been an issue before, because on other devices theres no reason to take it off), it not only allows dirt and dust under the cover its hard to get of on a daily basis to clean. Plus the daily cleanings is going to eventually break the small tabs holding the case together. I dont see why they didnt do a hard molded lined cut out like they did with the EVO LTE, doing that would have made the Case perfect. Other than that(which is a huge deal as I dont keep phones long and appreciated the protection otterbox provided to keep the phone clean for resale) the case itself is the same good quality as the rest. please fix the underthought screen protector cut outs and the oversized bowed screen protector.

HTC One Defender Series
I just got a new phone, the HTC One. Very excited and anxious to get a new Otterbox to protect it as Otterbox protected my now old phone the HTC EVO 4G. I am confident the case will protect my phone, it is the built in screen protector that is the one and only issue I have at this time. The old one fit directly onto the front of the screen and it was as if it was not even there in how the feel and action I got interacting with the phone. The new one .... there is a gap ... I have to press the screen protector to the face of the phone and then I can interact with the phone. This is not acceptable. Otherwise I am happy with the rest of the case only having had it for less than a day. Perhaps I will see about an exchange in case I got one that just did not get the construction correct.

Armor for your phone
Its a bit bulky but certainly one will not have worries if you drop your phone! The rubber skin feels good and solid in the hand. The plastic screen protector is OK but the HTC One is so touch sensitive I haven't had a problem manipulating the screen. Ultimately I think a screen protector overlay would have been better with the plastic screen as a removable option.
