Rated 3 out of 5 by Protection good, functioning not good This product is good for protection but the functioning is not. Not able to turn off phone sometimes, not your fault but has something to do with the phone. April 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Only way to go! Defenders offer great protection and have a screen protector. OtterBox lets you build your own case, choosing your own colors and now you can get a white holster. April 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Best of the Best I have used Otterbox on my iPad and 2differant phones..... Otterbox is the only protection I will feel safe with on my iPad and phone.... February 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Design The hard plastic case is part of the Defender assembly and acts like the shell of an egg in protecting the phone. I had knocked my Galaxy S4 off a ladder rung and it fell about 6 feet, thanks to the Defender my phone survived. The hard plastic case and the soft polymer case work as a system and I don't recommend using as a separate case. January 27, 2014

Q:
was accidentally thrown out berfore I read the instructions. I have taken the phone case out of the holster. How do I separate the cover (with the screen guard) of the phone case from the back of the case so I can insert the phone?

A:
The side with the window has slots, which tabs from the other side snap into. I always start at the end with the single "Snap Together" tab. I Lift the slot with the tip of a pocket knife and work toward the opposite end, alternating sides as I go. I suggest working over a folded towel, because the slick case on the S4 is hard to grip by the exposed edges, and has a tendency to "leap out" after the case is apart.

Watch the video online .... (Just flip the clips open from the botton up... Carefully, though...they don't go very far without breaking.)

Take a credit card and pry the tabs where the arrows are. You should be good to go.

I had the same problem and I had the instructions. Turn the case over. On the back there are arrows which show points where you need to apply pressure to the tabs. At the point where you apply pressuse use your finger nail to insert into the grooves. It will make a snapping/pop sound as it seperates. Start with the one at the top of the case or on either side, they have proven to be good starting points for me.

A:
There are small tabs on all sides of the plastic case. Carefully pull the case away with your fingernail where you see a little tab so that the tab is no longer inserted into the slot. Be careful and go slowly otherwise you can break a tab and the case won't fit tightly.
