Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost Love It More Than Life Istelf I really, really like my OtterBox. It's everything you would ever want and need in a phone case. I almost love it more than life itself and the reason why I don't is because it's not red. Honestly, that's the only downside about OtterBox; few colors and designs. April 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by a very protective case i have this case now for two weeks now, and i have to say that i am now more confident than before. i walk and commute a lot so having this case, is an absolute must. now, i no longer have to worry about my phone's well being. i have bumped this phone with a defender on a lot, got this device bumped on steel railings, chairs, tables, you name it while inside my pocket. :) The Silicone outer layer however have some light scratches now. maybe caused by light and hard bumps that this case have endured while inside my pocket. not quite sure... i like the weight of this, i can certainly feel it in my pocket, not as bulky as some person would say... and it has excellent grip too.. love this case April 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by I've tested the warranty replacement process twice I like the case. I feel that my phone is well protected from physical damage. I was concerned about the transparent lens but that concern has been laid to rest it functions as if i was working directly on the glass face. Where I have had trouble is the holster. Twice in four months I have broke the top retainer / release clip. It would seem that a hinged spring loaded retainer may be a more reliable option. The warranty process takes about 10 days, that includes two applications due to me not following the directions to the "T" and only checking my email once daily. In all fairness is should be said I am very hard on equipment strapped to my belt, or placed in my hands. April 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This was my first smart phone, (Note 3) and first otter box. initially the holster was so snug, that I needed both hands to get it to release. Eventually the clip broke. The replacement process was very smooth with very friendly and helpful customer service personnel. The replacement works great. April 15, 2014

A:
Take rubber case off first. Then you need to find all the area that lock the hard front and back case together. There are about 6 of them. Those areas need to be pulled apart with your finger nails.

This is the easiest way for me to remove the case.
Peel off the Rubber outer shell.

1. Put your Right thumb in the opening for the power button. Keep it there until all 3 latches on the right side of the case are unlatched.
2. Start with the large tab on the right side and unlock it first. Using your Right Ring finger, unlatch it.
2. Now use the fingernail on your Right index finger to unlatch the small tab on the top-right of the case.
3. Now grip the phone with your right hand and use your Left index finger to unlatch the tab on the bottom-right of the case.
4. Lift the right side of the case away from the phone and unlatch the tab at the top of the phone.
5. Now unlatch the tab at the bottom of the case.
6. Finish by pulling the case to the left like you are opening a book.

I don't have a ruler on me, but... the charger that came with the phone fits. My regular USB charger fits. My charger with an LED light on the top from Verizon does not fit, because the little light hits the bottom of the case. Having this case was worth getting a new USB cord for my car charger, and most of us have about a hundred of those around from past phones anyway.

Galaxy Note 3 SC-01F

Q:
I'm currently living in Japan and using the Galaxy Note 3 with Docomo. Will this case work with the SC-01F version of the Note 3 ? The reason I ask is the added feature to use the small antenna thats built into the phone to watch digital TV while your out. This is located in the top right corner of the phone.

You would have to modify this case in order to keep that antenna attached. The phone fits perfectly inside with no extra room on that corner.

I swap the battery out on an almost daily basis. Is it a fairly easy process and one that will not damage the otterbox over time (meaning approx 1 year of daily removal and replacement)?

Removing the cover is fairly easy once you get the procedure. It may be inconvenient to remove the cover if you swap batteries that frequently.

I think that the constant removal of the case to exchange batteries will stretch the rubber outer skin and likely tear it. Make also wear the "locking" joints of the hard case.

The process to take the case off is NOT EASY.
If you remove the case daily, there is a chance that the case is going to loosen up. ie: to the point that the case do note clip together anymore, or poorly clipping together. This case is not constructed to been taking off and back-together in the manner you are suggesting.

The Defender series case isn't all that easy to remove. It is meant to give the best protection for your phone, which doesn't call for easy removal. If I were you I would look online for some videos of people removing the case, just to see how fast they can do it. If you're doing it every day I bet you can get pretty fast too! The Commuter series might have a different process, I'm not sure about that one.
