Rated 5 out of 5 by Defender for Galaxy Note 3 I have been using Otterbox cases for years. They are well made, and extremely protective. I have yet to have a phone break while in an Otterbox case. Immediately upon purchasing a new phone, I purchased the matching Otterbox Defender. The case is well made, and fits the phone perfectly. The rubber outer shell it extremely practical. It feels great in my hand and stays put wherever I place it. August 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall good this case does a pretty good job. but as far as quaility goes its not the greatest. if it wasnt for the warranty I wouldnt recommend it. they have sent me a few warranty cases without issues. August 25, 2014

I have a defender series case for the Galaxy Tab 3 - 7". I cannot figure out how to open the case to slide my tablet into it. I have the stand part off. Your website doesn't have instructions for the case I purchased

Q:
I am a police officer and was wondering if the belt clip is long enough to securely fit on a police duty belt. Pretty much what is the depth of the clip that actually clips to the belt.

Mine fits and grips fine. It is a spring loaded belt clip which can be opened with the thumb pushing against the case. The clip opens up and slides down over the belt. I use a 3" belt and the clip fits fine. It would fit any size belt you have, I`m sure. The spring is extra heavy. It atually bites down over the belt. I hope I have been able to explain. Godspeed. And have a safe walk with your Job.

the clip section of the product is made for a 2in wide belt that's 1/4in thick. but if you use a leather button strap on your service belt, it would fit there and can be rotated to face vertical or horizontal

There is some issue with the belt clip. I am a retired cop, but if I was still active I would not trust the clip in a foot chase or a scuffle with an idiot.

I measured the inside opening of my belt clip and it looks like it is 1 3/4 in. long and "around" 1/8 in. wide.

No...the depth of the clip that actually clips to the belt is just about 2". Would fit a trouser belt but not a gun belt. At least not a Sam Browne type.

Yes you can wear this on a belt. I find inner hip the best location on the belt...less bumping and friction with my arm.

There are little notches to lift with a nail. Do one at a time starting with one and go around the case. I recall there are arrows on the back of the case to show where a few of the notch locations are.

A:
Remove rubber cover. Using fingernails, pry apart near the Stylus location at the bottom of the phone, then work your way up the side of the case and across the top. It takes a minute to figure it out, but once you do it a couple of times, it becomes more simple.

A:
Take rubber case off first. Then you need to find all the area that lock the hard front and back case together. There are about 6 of them. Those areas need to be pulled apart with your finger nails.

you have to wiggle the lock tabs open and work your way around the box. it locks real tight for protection reasons. use a small blade if you need to.

This is the easiest way for me to remove the case.
Peel off the Rubber outer shell.

1. Put your Right thumb in the opening for the power button. Keep it there until all 3 latches on the right side of the case are unlatched.
2. Start with the large tab on the right side and unlock it first. Using your Right Ring finger, unlatch it.
2. Now use the fingernail on your Right index finger to unlatch the small tab on the top-right of the case.
3. Now grip the phone with your right hand and use your Left index finger to unlatch the tab on the bottom-right of the case.
4. Lift the right side of the case away from the phone and unlatch the tab at the top of the phone.
5. Now unlatch the tab at the bottom of the case.
6. Finish by pulling the case to the left like you are opening a book.

I don't have a ruler on me, but... the charger that came with the phone fits. My regular USB charger fits. My charger with an LED light on the top from Verizon does not fit, because the little light hits the bottom of the case. Having this case was worth getting a new USB cord for my car charger, and most of us have about a hundred of those around from past phones anyway.
