The otterbox protects my tablet just like all of my other electronics with otterboxe's. It is secure and safe in the otterbox. Otterbox is the best product for protecting your electronics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Omrgyl Defender for Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is the ONE
This is my first Defender case, but I have used Commuter cases for my Samsung smartphones long before. This time I wanted more protection for my new tool &/or toy and Defender was the only option available for Galaxy Tab S. But it should not be considered a limitation in any case - this product delivers! Nice fit, easy installation, good grip and look and quality you'd expect from Otterbox. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by UncleJoe Even Better Than Expected
I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4" a few months ago and searched the net for a more protective case than what Samsung offered. I looked at 10-15 cases for similar products (none was yet available for the Tab S); drilled down on 3 or 4 and settled to a choice between the Otterbox Defender and the Griffin Survivor. I did a lot of research. Both were comparably priced and highly reviewed for protection and quality build; with the Otterbox trading off some protection for a lighter, more comfortable case. Since I'm not going to be taking my Tablet into battle, chasing storms or hiking the Sarhara; I decided that the trade-offs Otterbox made were solid positives. I've had the case for a month so far, and it's better than I expected; solid, no give, tight fit, and that the cover detaches is a nice benefit since it makes the Tablet lighter when I'm using it. The only downside would be that using the stand, in portrait mode especially, looks a bit unstable. (I have no plans for that, so not an issue with me).

I was very impressed with the fit and quality of my first Otterbox. While I am very protective of my electronics, this gives me a second chance with accidental drops and knocks.
