As the flagship device with a huge 3,500 mAh battery and Motorola’s signature Kevlar backing, the DROID Maxx may take the cake as the most desired device of the new DROID line-up. Do yourself a favor and keep this top-notch device intact with the Defender Series DROID Maxx case. Three layers of rugged protection come together in this DROID Maxx case, enhancing every innovative feature and complementing the design language of this device. From a drop onto the asphalt to a toss across your living room by a temper tantrum-throwing toddler, we’ve thought of all of those “worst-case scenarios” when designing this DROID Maxx case. The Defender Series for DROID Maxx was inspired by you so it can handle just about anything life may toss your way.

Rated 3 out of 5 by My second Otterbox ever The first Otterbox case held in too much battery heat, causing the battery to overheat and have significantly shorter battery use. The only fix was to remove the case when charging. After replacing the battery and removing the case every time I charged the phone, I got normal run times. The latest case (Droid Maxx) has not affected the battery run time. I think its because its not completely sealed. The camera, speaker and microphone are all left open. It performs well (I am a contractor and I routinely expose my phone to harsh elements). My only concern so far is I had to have the holster replaced only a few months into owning it. It hooked on my seat belt strap and snapped the belt clip. Not in a way that could be repaired. It broke the entire chunk of plastic surrounding the pivot portion. I hope this isn't a regular problem. I also have difficulty removing the case to clean the phone. When I had to remove the case to send a photo of the parts I had when warrantying the holster, the case was damaged in doing so. August 16, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by the best My otterbox saved my phone when it jumped off my belt into the flushing toilet. I snapped it apart, dried off the water droplets and was good to go. August 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I've used Otterboxes on a couple of phones over several years. I think they protect the phones very well. I am EMS provider and use my phone a lot, sometimes I drop it or it may be knocked off my hip. The case has always protected my phones very well. The only weakness I have found is with the holster's belt attachment. If you catch the holster on something the hinge seems to break too easy. If that could be inproved it would be a real improvement. August 10, 2014

Yes. I use the Ghost 100 Wireless Charger on my Droid Maxx every night. The only issue may be lining up the phone on the proper spot for charging, but this is a charger issue, not a case issue.
