Best of the 4 cases I've tried
I keep going back to Otterbox, especially the Commuter series for all of my phones. The Commuter for BB 9900 is the best fit and feel of all the other cases I've tried, including the Defender.
I have twice accidentally dropped the phone from my hands onto hard tile floors with no damage. The Otterbox company has a very good warranty policy. I have used it, and I've always been very satisfied. If your 9900 is naked, get it an Otterbox Commuter!

better than the other otterbox [defender]
I spent a bundle on the 'Defender' series for Blackberry 9900, and after a couple weeks returned it. I loved the heavy duty aspects of otterbox, but the design for that particular model was extremely poor. Every time I took it out of the belt clip, it wouldn't go back in. The rubber part kept folding under itself and kept the parts from snapping together. What a letdown ! I now have the commuter series, which is good but lacks a belt clip. I had to go back and buy an oversize leather case, because the otterbox makes the phone too big for a regular case.

Otterbox is the best
All of us deal with countless businesses and companies all the time. If I were asked to respond, "Name the first business that comes instantly to mind that you have found has the best customer service," Otterbox would be that business.
Otterbox representatives are warm, friendly, understanding, responsive, and very helpful. And all of this accompanies an incredibly strong commitment, with no quibbles ever, to a lifetime product warranty.
Otterboxes have literally saved my Blackberry hides since my first Pearl. While they may be a little difficult to put on or remove, that's because they're tough and reliable. And if the case ever breaks (usually because of the strain on the case in taking it on or off), Otterbox is ready to replace it immediately with high-speed delivery.
Also, unlike most of the rest of the cell phone-related industry - including Blackberry itself - Otterbox was ready to support the newest Blackberry - the Blackberry Bold 9900 - within a few weeks of its appearance on the market. When I get my next phone, I know Otterbox will be there for me.
I enthusiastically recommend Otterbox to every cell phone user with whom the subject comes up. I don't know who their CEO is or the hierarchical structure that flows to the "boots on the ground" for the company, but there must be excellence and unwavering commitment throughout Otterbox that continues to result in such a consistently positive experience for this loyal customer.

High Durability
Got the Otterbox Commuter series from Australia and the other day accidentally dropped the phone straight from the 4th floor staircase area to 3rd floor. The moment it hit the 3rd floor, my heart is breaking apart. Thought the phone is gone, especially when I picked up the phone the screen was completely blank. Less than 3 sec the phone was reboot (I supposed due to the heavy impact it shacked the battery) and everything back to normal, not a single harm at all to the phone. Except minor scratches at the lower front poly-carbonate case.
